I am Part of a Society Where People Can Commit Rape, But Can’t love.
Proud to be Indian, ashamed of the society
Hello friends, I’m from India, and I’m proud to be Indian, there’s no doubt about that.
But I don’t feel proud of the fact that I live in a society in India where life is equivalent to hell for a girl.
Here, women are called goddesses in words, but they are not accepted as goddesses in reality.
Here, any man can rape any woman, society has given complete freedom for that.
If the girl is infant and can’t speak — rape her.
If she’s an old woman — rape her.
If she’s wearing short clothes — rape her.
If she goes out in the dark — rape her.
If she’s alone — rape her.
If she’s beautiful — rape her.
If she speaks too much — rape her.
If she’s happy — rape her.
If she’s alive — rape her.
If she’s dead — rape her.
But!
Oh! What have you done? You love a girl? Want to marry her? What a huge sin, oh god! Now society will not forgive you. In the name of honour, you’ll be killed — you and that girl too.
Here rape is allowed, but love is not.
