Today, I opened my Stories page on Medium and noticed that my last article was written on October 17, 2024.

Ah! I haven’t written anything for almost four months. That’s a long break.

During this break, I often felt guilty about not writing, as if I had failed as a writer.

Writing has mostly been on and off for a long time now. One time, after reading books, I pushed myself to write daily, and it lasted only four days.

Again, after a gap, motivation comes but vanishes in no time.

I bet many of you have faced this, especially those with a full-time job.

I tried a lot of productivity methods, but nothing worked for me permanently.

It’s easy to blame ourselves for being inconsistent and make comparisons with other successful writers.

But is it our fault? Or are we simply not capable of writing?

The answer is a big No!

So, if it’s not our fault, is there a way to write without feeling guilty about inconsistency?

One thing is true for sure from my experience: you can’t finish everything all at once.
