How Medium Earnings Surprised Me

My October earnings and learnings on medium

One of my friends introduced me to Medium. She knew I loved writing.

When I joined the Medium Partner program and paid $5, do you know what thought I had in my mind? Primarily it was —

1. Write useful content on Medium so that people can connect to it.

After I wrote my first article, just the next day I saw earnings of $0.06 for that.

It was a good enough surprise to me. I never thought making money online was so easy. It was just $0.06, but good enough to surprise me.

This earning on the very first day gave me another objective. It was —

• To recover the cost of Medium partner program ($5)

I started writing more on the platform. In total, I contributed 10 stories in October. But the earnings fell short of $5. I made just $3.36 in October.

My second article fetched me $1.25 in a single day (The Power of Gratitude). Seeing this, I was pretty much hopeful to reach $5 mark in October. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed not to reach $5.
