Hello Dear Reader,
It’s nice that you clicked the title and made it here. Without any further delay, let’s get right to the point.

I’d like to open up a few questions — not necessarily answer them — questions that anyone might have something to say about: people considering therapy, those currently in therapy, those who quit halfway through, those who benefitted greatly after years, and of course psychologists, psychiatrists, and students of these disciplines, especially among fellow Medium writers.

Here are our open-ended questions:

  • The excessive cost of sessions
  • The accessibility of the word “treatment”
  • Measurability and verifiability
  • Categorizing it as a basic necessity

Let’s begin with the first question, which may have a somewhat easier answer. I don’t know if any of my readers would say, “Actually, I think therapy prices are quite reasonable,” but I’m guessing most of you would agree with me: they’re high. Extremely high.
