How I Survived The Day I Got Fired

Yes, it happened to me.

Have you ever lived something like that? If you did, you will remember for sure.

It feels like the worst day under the sun, I know.

I was young.

I was working in a large media agency at the time, and I was trying to do my best.

It was my first time working at a large company, one of the largest agencies in the world. I had always aimed to work there. I wanted to do it right.

I worked within a small team; we were just my manager, an intern girl and me. We managed four large accounts for famous luxury and FMCG brands.

My line manager barely spoke to me during the day. She came to the office and had small chats with a couple of peers. They would go to grab a coffee, and then she usually sat at her desk next to me without saying a word.

She spoke to me only to explain new tasks to handle. Sometimes, she forwarded me emails without even giving me a brief context.

We never had recurrent team meetings, 1:1s, or anything else. I had no feedback from my manager, so I had no idea what she thought about my job.
