Furry, Funny, Forever Missed: A Poem For Scooby-Doo
More Than Just A Dog, More Than A Pet, More Than Just A Friend
I once had a dog named Scooby-Doo the cutest little thing ever.
Til she wanted her dinner
til she wanted to go out
til she wanted what you had in your mouth
til she shat on the carpet and scratched the door awful
til she bit into your hand, for telling her, “No!”
til she uprooted the plants, so she could sit in the pots
til she made the block around the house, at the sight of a hose
absolutely no baths for this “fearless” pooch
til she nipped your heels
barking at anything out of place
for she knew everything had a place in her world, as she did in ours.
“Aaah, Scooby!”
We watched your brown eyes close
and little black nose twitch
as the final breath left your fluffy, white and brown body
contrasting with the cold, sterile deep grey that held your limp form
and yes, we still miss you so.
Scooby-Doo gave us a wonderful 13 years with a few scares in between, but everything was love and laughter. RIP to the best dog ever!!! Gone but never forgotten. Pets are family too.
