Feeling Sluggish? Try These Easy Homemade Protein Bars to Boost Your Energy
Simple. Healthy. Delicious.
For the past several months, I’ve been looking for and trying out recipes for healthy, hearty snacks to keep on hand. After doing plenty of research on different ingredients and portions I found on countless blogs, I finally settled on my own recipe for chocolate oat protein bars.
These bars are perfect for keeping in the fridge to eat as part of my breakfast, after a workout or as a snack when I’m feeling low on energy. These bars use whole, nutritious ingredients that won’t weigh your body down with the added sugars or refined carbohydrates you find in most store-bought, processed protein and granola bars.
Check out the ingredient list and steps below to add this recipe to your collection of healthy, daily snacks.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup steel-cut oats
- 3/4 cup 100% unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate protein powder (I use Orgain, but feel free to use your brand of choice)
- 2 T ground flaxseed
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp pink Himalayan salt (more to sprinkle for garnish)
