A story about self-discovery.
“You cannot do it”, this is the phrase I have heard almost all my life. I have started to write many books but left them in between, started to learn instruments, which led to no avail. In my life, I have left most of the things ‘half finished’.
1st of April, I woke up thinking of starting to exercise daily. I told my mom with utter excitement that I am going to exercise daily from now, “You just say this, I know you are never going to abide by it,” she said in response. That took away my motivation in an instant; I just sat at the dining table sipping coffee, thinking about how unsure I was. I did not exercise that day; I spent the next few days just feeling low.
After a week, I decided to go on a walk, and that helped me a lot. I told my friend that I am going to start writing a new book. He laughed and said, “You always say this, but I have never seen you complete anything you have said to me.” Hearing this, I was disappointed in myself; I thought I could never do anything in my life.
After a lot of thinking, I figured out one thing: I have always expected people to cheer for me. Someone who can be encouraging of whatever I am doing, no matter if I complete it or not. I have always needed someone who can motivate me, who can believe in me, who will stand around and watch me…
