Adoptive parents sentenced to prison after 10-year-old was found weighing just 36 pounds

Nearly as quickly as the trial began this week, proceedings ended early Thursday morning, as the defendants agreed to plead guilty.

Krista Schindley, 49, and Tyler Schindley, 48, were accused of charges in the sad and shocking case.

The parents have seven children — two by birth, five by adoption.

The Schindleys pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree cruelty to children, two counts of false imprisonment, one count of criminal attempt to commit felony, one count of aggravated battery, and one count of family violence battery.

Krista also pleaded guilty to three additional charges of aggravated assault.
