No One Is One-Dimensional
People have so many layers to them.
Dr. Myles Munroe once said in one of his sermons that if you want to find out if you truly love someone, then ask yourself why you love that person.
If you answer that you love how they care for you, then you don’t love that person; you love the fact that they provide for you. What happens when they can’t provide for you anymore?
If you answer that you don’t know why you love that person, you just do. That is when you know that you truly love that person.
I always remind myself of that beautiful sermon that Dr. Myles Munroe did. It made me realize that we’re not one-dimensional beings. We love different things, we have different layers. We change and we go, we outgrow some things and we grow into certain other things.
Sometimes people fall in love with the version of you that they created in their own minds, forgetting that you are your own person.
For example,
- You can be someone who is spiritually powerful, but you have an ambitious spirit and love taking on the business world.
- You can be someone who does hard labour, but loves to pamper the person whom you love with gifts, take care of them, and cook for them.
