2017? Has it really been that long?
A lot of shit was happening in my life that year. That was when I started working as an insurance adjuster, inspecting roofs. I knew that my literary ideas would make great television shows, so I wanted a way to travel from Chicago to LA that would pay for itself. I took the advice of a relative and applied for an adjuster license in Texas, Minnesota, Arizona, and so many other states. I told anyone who would listen that I was headed for California. Eventually, that led to the question: are you open to freelance work in Albuquerque, New Mexica? At the time, I was in Birmingham, Alabama, and being west of that location, Albuquerque was an attractive destination. So, of course, I said yes!
