5 Sayings I Just Can’t Take Seriously
At least according to my Aspie’s inner voice
A saying — a short, pithy expression that generally contains advice or wisdom — can be a timeless gem.
For me, these sayings take on unique layers of meaning due to how I process the world.
Being on the Asperger’s spectrum, I am used to having two “inner voices”. Firstly, there is my “Aspie’s voice”, which takes things in their literal, basic sense. Then, there is my “learned voice”, which translates and corrects, according to my lived experience.
Today, I’m going to let Aspie’s voice take the helm unfiltered, and guide you through a literal destruction of five well known sayings. Welcome to the world according to Asperger’s Brain. Read on, normies!
“There is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow”
According to Irish mythology, mischievous creatures called leprechauns bury their pots of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Presumably the Irish banking system is either completely unreliable, or it discriminates against small mythical beings wanting to open up savings accounts.
