Why Must I Always Change? Creating Cherished Memories
Reflections on those special moments in life
I stood in the rain the other day and watched my grandkids playing hockey. My wife reminded me how important it is to make the effort, despite the weather — I call these experiences ‘creating lasting or cherished memories.’
Although I was a teacher all my life, I am continually reminded how our young people teach us oldies so much about life.
We absorb, refine, reshape and create these thoughts into ‘gold nuggets’ of wisdom we can share with others.
As we do so, we create cherished memories and enjoy positive, potentially life-changing relationships with family, friends and other people with whom we interact.
There is a lot of doom and gloom in the global marketplace. We are desperately short of global leaders with integrity who genuinely care and believe that every life matters, and who strive, no matter the cost, to see world peace attained.
Instead, the East/West divide seems to be gathering momentum, the Middle East tensions continue to escalate, the suffering of innocent people often leaves me feeling overwhelmed and thinking about what needs to happen to transform our global community.
