Yes, I Will Judge You by Your Size
Size matters, but not how you might think
It’s true. It isn’t all about size, but size generally gives a good indication of how well taken care of you’ll be. You know. As a customer.
I don’t know about you, but lately I find myself disgusted with “Big” business. Corporate America seems synonymous with greed, and I’m super fucking over it.
It turns out I like my businesses like I like my dick: on the small side — but with a mission-driven owner who’s fair and generous.
Yes, really.
When I was younger, I was a bit of a size queen, worshiping at the altar of belonging and acceptance that shopping at big-name stores offered. It was all about the labels. I wanted what all the cool kids had.
It’s hard to divest from the notion that to feel satisfied, you need more. But my god, haven’t we proven that’s true? Enough, true; let’s make sure everyone has enough — but isn’t it excessive at some point?
In the last decade or so, I’ve realized something:
At some point, it isn’t even about size. It’s about power.
And with great power comes… well, not great responsibility, apparently.
