Mothers Against Materialism
The truth about technology and innovation
It’s April 9, 2025. Humanity sits at the brink of transhumanism. The digital age has been raging for decades. Globalization happened, and capitalism ‘beat’ communism, only to self-implode at the helm of billionaires and reality-TV stars turned politicians.
Now there’s a tech guy and businessman cutting red tape, with a nasty patriarchal tone— and chainsaws. It’s a prop, ok? We’ve all been shocked and awed into oblivion, depression, apathy, and worse. It’s been three months since the rogue administration took office.
I’m trying to figure out their endgame and all I can imagine is a dystopian tech movie. Musk thinks it’s up to him to get mankind to Mars. Perhaps firing and deporting infrastructure workers to usher mainstream robotics adoption is just one move in his master plan toward colonizing the red planet.
Trump’s tricky. Maybe Mars is his backup plan for after he blows up the world, but while he’s on Earth, I think the guy just wants to build things. He likes material. Money. Land. Real estate. Women. Shiny stuff.
It’s not a problem to like nice things, or have dreams— but it is a problem to purchase power and fund your ego trip at the world’s peril, with little regard for the hopes and dreams of other people.
