Which Is Better?
Focusing on your strengths or eliminating your weaknesses?
As we approach the New Year it’s good to think about self-improvement.
I have some (complicated) thoughts about self-improvement as a thing but like someone once said, “If you’re not growing, you’re dying.”
What reason is there to not at least try to grow as a person?
But here’s a question for you all:
Is it better to double down on our strengths?
Or is it better to work on our weaknesses?
If we work on our strengths we can become top performers in whatever area we’re strongest in. There’s value to this, to becoming a sharp, specialized blade.
If we work on our weaknesses we raise our floor. We’re better all around. We become the kind of generalists that can help anyone or anything.
What do you think?
