Simple Mindfulness
Don’t overcomplicate it
4:30 am.
It's still dark out.
I sit in my favorite chair with my first cup of coffee. I notice the way the cushion beneath me feels. I feel the heat of the brew soak into my fingers. I take in the rich aroma.
The warmth fills my being as my mind floats tirelessly between random thoughts.
They come, I acknowledge them, then I let them go.
This is my daily mindfulness practice.
Yours can look different yet be just as simple. It doesn’t need to be any more sophisticated or complicated than this.
At its core, it’s simply a moment of pure being. Awareness of your physical being, and your mind.
Just existing in a uniquely human way. Senses taking in the world. Mind playfully dancing from one thought to the next.
No goals.
No judgment.
No moments of reflection yet.
Just, be.
