Work or Exploitation?

In March, a qualified lawyer in the UK was sent to prison for keeping a Ugandan woman as a slave. She apparently skipped the part of international law that says enslaving someone is wrong. Who knew?

You might think, “Surely someone without education or legal knowledge made a terrible mistake.”

Nope.

Lydia Mugambe knew better. She just didn’t care. Before her conviction, she was a judge for goodness sake, she understood what she was doing.

Apparently, slavery is wrong… except when you’re the one with the spare room and the dirty dishes.

Reminds me of another story — the early life of Mo Farah (CBE), now a retired long-distance runner and champion, who was trafficked into the UK as a child and forced into domestic…
