I spent the month of July in Prague alone and on my first solo international adventure. I lived in the Czech countryside and would take a bus and two trains into the city every morning to attend classes. On my commutes, I listened to a wide range of music, but nonetheless, a range that embodied the essence of “Praha” to me in ways I still have trouble articulating, even now, for the multi-faceted beauty that is the historical capital of Bohemia.

Prague is sexy and mysterious. It’s incredibly old and incredibly new. Grungy and angelic. Dark and pastel. Vibrant and peaceful. Bustling and vacant. It’s all of these things and so much more — even after only a month, I became acutely aware of how special this city is for all that it encompasses, gleans, and foreshadows.

Before, during, and after my time there, I composed three playlists to characterize my experiences of anticipating, living in, and reminiscing on my time in Prague. I hope you enjoy them, and better yet, I hope they give you a taste of the magic — please excuse this cliché — that is contained within this beautiful region of Czechia. I miss it and search for pieces of it every day.
