The Alarm’s leader succumbed to cancer after beating it three times
Phil Collins is known for performing at both Live Aid locations of the July 13, 1985, globally televised charity gig for African famine relief, getting flown via helicopter from Wembley Stadium to Heathrow Airport in London to catch a supersonic Concorde jet to New York City, then helicoptered to John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia.
But that was nothing compared to what Mike Peters achieved on Record Store Day on April 19, 2018. He on April 29, 2025, after beating the disease three times, and was first diagnosed in 1995.
His popular 1980s Welsh band scored seventeen Top 50 UK hits, with over 5 million in album sales worldwide in the band’s 35-plus-year career. He also served as the lead singer of the Scottish band Big Country between 2011 and 2013.
