A Grand Irish Music Cèilidh

The first of many, because Irish music deserves its own RAR, Sláinte.

A four-piece traditional Irish band performing live at O’Neills Bar, Dublin. From left to right: a musician playing a bodhrán (Irish frame drum), a banjo player, a violinist with bright red hair, and a guitarist. They are seated in a cozy, wood-paneled pub interior, surrounded by vintage Irish whiskey signs and mirrors, with a carved wooden fireplace behind them. Microphones and cables are set up in front for amplified sound.”

This was supposed to be a St. Patrick’s Day story, but like Ireland’s own Late Late Show, I was late putting pen to paper (or fingers to my keyboard), and my chances of getting it to the publisher in time were about as likely as being well received in an orange suit at a Dublin parade. If you want to write a story for an international holiday, it’s best to plan ahead and not start writing at noon once the pints are already flowing… but here we are.

Still, great Irish music deserves its moment, whenever it comes. So, whether you’re nursing a post-Paddy’s pint, green or otherwise, or just here for the tunes, I hope you enjoy this selection. Maybe next year, I’ll be ready to meet the road of inspiration several days before the devil of procrastination knows I have a tale to tell!

A Celebration of Irish Music and a Playlist Worthy of Raising a Glass To.
I pray this Rate-A-Record session inspires you to do so and to share some musical treats with your loved ones.

As you might have guessed from the kicker above, this was inspired by fellow Medium writer
