My partner took advantage of a promotion that Speedway is running until April 29th. They’re giving their Rewards customers five free coupons for samples of Heineken’s new offering of alcohol-free beer.

If you’re already a Speedy Rewards member, you’ll likely be able to take advantage of this promotion while it’s going on if the product is available in your area. I know it’s available at the store we go to near where we are in New York.

I got two of our five free Heineken Zeros the other day because I wanted to at least try it. I like their regular-tasting beer well enough. I don’t drink because alcohol flares up my gout and also interacts with some of my other medications, including my hypertension medications. But beer is beer and I do like the taste of beer.

The fact that I could get the taste of beer without the guilt of drinking alcohol, I was over the moon. I feel like The Heineken Company knew exactly who they were marketing this beer to.

Since this beer is 0.0% alcohol and still has the great taste that comes with malted barley and hops, and only comes in at 69 calories (nice). It felt like something that I should try at least once.

Was I right wanting to do that? That beer was just as delicious as their regular beer. I felt like the label stating that there was no alcohol in there was lying. I drank the whole beer in about five minutes, and my thirst was satisfied. I imagined drinking a pack of these and splitting them with my partner.

I went on Target’s website to see how much they sell these for in stores. A six-pack of them in stores comes in at . The bottles are 11.2 ounces compared to the 12 ounces for the regular bottles.

Both six-packs come in at the same price, but as you can see, the alcohol-free version just comes in at a little bit more per ounce, but the price is comparable to the original.

I assume the higher price is the cost of filtering out the alcohol from the original. I don’t mind paying a little more not to have the guilt of the alcohol in the drink. If you’re someone who doesn’t drink but likes the taste of beer, I’d recommend this to you.

Actually, to conclude, I’ll give this the Sturg Stamp of Approval and a 10/10 for non-alcoholic beverages. I haven’t had many of them, but I couldn’t tell the difference. I even fell asleep after drinking one beer.

Author’s Note: I am not sponsored by The Heineken Company or any of its holding companies or investors. I am also not sponsored by Speedway or the Speedy Rewards Program (basically, no one is paying me to write this stuff.)

I merely tried something different and wanted to share it with people who might be interested in hearing about it. Also, if the Dutch company does want to sponsor me in the future, lol. ;) I’d be down. (Kidding, sort of.)

If you want to hear more about my opinions on other products I’ve tried, let me know. These are fun to write.
