The Ick: A Psychological Response Trumpers Know But Still Expect Democrats to Ignore
I’m trying. I swear I’m trying. But every time I meet with a Trumper, I get the ick.
I think they know the feeling — they felt it when Trump bought a Tesla from his friend Elon Musk and called Tesla vandals ‘domestic terrorists.’ Domestic terrorists? Seriously, that’s what he went with?
They also feel it when they see the price of eggs is still sky-high. And they still feel it when they hear the stock market is crashing because of the tariffs Trump uses as “negotiation” tactics with other countries.
US stock market dominance is fading. The capitalization has declined ~3.5 percentage points over the last 2 months, to 47.5%, the lowest since Q2 2024.
How is that Making America Great Again?
If this were The Apprentice, Trump would fire himself at the end of the first episode.
Unfortunately, this is real life. I get the ick every time I meet a Trumper, knowing how much more disappointment awaits them. Reality’s calling and we’ll have to pick up — eventually.
