Some people can be emotionally deficient their whole lives
We’ve all met immature people. I know I have. I was in a room full of them. All those tantrums: crying, sucking thumbs, stomping feet, rolling on the ground, screaming blue murder.
I tell you, it’s the last time I go to a Republican rally.
The problem is undeveloped, imperfect, childish people can remain juvenile delinquents their whole lives. Through their behaviours, they can end up in positions that are incompatible with their emotional intelligence.
They don’t care how their behaviour effects others, but it is a problem for everyone else. Here’s how to recognise them:
Immature people get
Feedback is taken completely out of context, even when it is gentle. They will argue black is white or vice versa. Defensive people go on the offensive, they shut you down or turn it back on you.
Defensive people think it is more important to protect their image than to fix the problem. They cannot accept being criticised without defending themselves, even in the face of overwhelming evidence against them.
