Wages Are a Lie: The Economy Works, Just Not for You

A construction worker in a hard hat walks down a city street beneath towering skyscrapers. He carries a metal lunchbox as a massive billboard above him displays a rising stock chart and the word “PROFIT,” highlighting the contrast between labor and capital.

Everyone’s talking about inflation, but no one’s talking about the insult to your paycheck. You don’t need an economics degree to know something’s wrong. Just open your fridge. Check your gas tank. Look at your rent. Look at your kid’s tuition bill. The cost of survival is soaring, and your income hasn’t moved in years.

Wages are the great American lie. We’re told to work hard, keep our heads down, stay in line, and we’ll make it. But millions of us are working harder than ever and getting less than ever. And the people who could do something about it? They’re sitting silent.

Nobody’s raising the alarm because they’re all cashing in

This economy isn’t broken — it’s rigged. The silence from Washington isn’t accidental. It’s bought and paid for.

The donor class writes the rules. Lobbyists fund the campaigns. Politicians don’t work for the people; they work for the portfolios that fuel their re-elections. The last thing they want is wage reform. Why would they disrupt a system that benefits their friends, their backers, and themselves?
