PARENTING
Bringing Out the Needy in You When Kids Become Too Independent
The parent-child dynamic requires love, patience, and healthy boundaries
It’s safe to say that some of the hardest jobs in the world include ones where we may never know someone who has performed them.
Alaskan crab fisherman.
Commercial diver.
Explosives specialist.
Stunt person.
Airline pilot.
The above jobs are all filled with their own level of difficulty, requiring little to no room for error.
But when it comes to being a parent, that is arguably the hardest job of them all, and one many are familiar with. It’s a complicated job, and nobody does it perfectly. All parents make mistakes.
Along with mistakes come many things done right, centered around love and protection.
Healthy parenting includes trying to create a loving environment, supporting your children in ways both seen and unseen. It also comes with a need to teach independence and protect them from pain. But that love and protection can also come with a cost.
