So You Fell Down the Alt-Right Pipeline?
Far-right ideology is gaining popularity with some members of Gen-Z
The concept of the alt-right pipeline, from my recollection, started in 2015 or 2016, when Trump was first running for president. The term ‘alt-right’ was invented by Richard Spencer as a sad attempt to repackage neonazi ideology into something more palatable. Other figures associated with this ideology include Stefan Molyneus, Milo Yiannapoulous, Lauren Southern, and Stefan Molyneux.
On the other hand, the concept of a pipeline specifically refers to the idea that people, seeking out mainstream right-wing content, will gradually be exposed to more radical views overtime, until they are part of the alt-right. Just like any gang or terrorist group, the far-right looks for economically and socially vulnerable people, who have a lot of anger and not a lot of education.
Consider , who wrote a memoir White American Youth about his own descent into a neonazi gang, and how meeting people from the minority groups he hated so much eventually led him to leaving that life behind and advocating against it.
