A Peek Into My Writing Journey
Writing is a breather for me as it gives me space to vent out suffocating feelings.
As a kid, I spoke only a couple of words in an hour, but I would write many sentences in a couple of minutes. I found that writing was my comfort zone, as I put forth my views without any inhibition.
Probably, the love for writing came naturally, as I found an appropriate medium to communicate my emotions without any fear of being judged. I grew up in a partially digital world; hence, I still reminisce about the letters I exchanged with my dear ones.
I thoroughly enjoyed writing letters to my friends, who had been staying in a different state due to their father’s transferable job. The letters really helped me connect with a lot of my friends because it wasn’t just about the words but the real emotions behind them.
My writing journey began a long time ago, even though I wasn’t aware of it at the time.
I started my online writing journey in 2018 on Quora. I wrote extensively about my niche subject — food. It instilled great confidence in me, as I amassed many followers who encouraged me a lot with their positive feedback.
In the same year, I began my journey into food blogging. It is an exciting pursuit that blended photography with the art of compiling delicious recipes. Over time, it started to feel a bit monotonous, as I found myself confined to just food-related content without room to explore beyond that.
Life doesn’t go the way we planned, and naturally disappointment or pessimistic thoughts creep in. To overcome such grueling moments, I resorted to writing to untangle my mind and induce positivity, and it really worked.Writing is a breather for me as it gives me space to vent out suffocating feelings.
I realized that my interest lies in journaling. It became a daily ritual of documenting my experiences. I also noted my future goals and the strategies to achieve them.
I’ve often questioned why it’s only the negative emotions that end up on the pages of my journal. But then I realized those feelings are often too personal to share with anyone else.
I can’t really tell if writing started as a hobby, a form of therapy, or a trait passed down from my father, but it has undeniably become a vital part of my life.
I always rely on writing as a support system. It has helped me navigate life’s curve balls with ease.
Big thanks to you, for the challenge — I had a great time being part of it!
