I Stopped Treating AI as a Gimmick — Here’s How It Actually Helps Me
An academy in the palm of your hand.
The Role of AI
Many words have been said about AI’s impact on various businesses, artistic pursuits and everything in between. Some people are outraged at the speed which AI crowds out the human effort, others welcome AI as a tool to streamline their own work.
As a manager, photographer, writer, and musician; I feel the effects of AI in a lot of areas of my life. Yet, I find myself very at ease with AI. Perhaps one big reason for this may be because it’s artistic toolset is something I use for fun and it doesn’t compete with my own artistic endeavors because those artistic outlets are not my bread and butter financially.
Another reason AI doesn’t bother me is because the art I create with AI and the art I create myself have very different values. A photo I have taken and find pleasing is worth a lot more to me than a nice looking image generated by AI. I still find artistic depth in the AI image, especially if it manages to capture what I set out to create, but not value. I suppose it’s kind of like buying a tv with money you saved up and buying a tv on credit. While you certainly enjoy the tv regardless, buying it on credit feels less earned.
