Inspired by the Delightful Dessert in Midsummer Night’s Curse
Today I’m sharing another traditional Romanian recipe that is rich and sweet — a dessert appreciated by locals and tourists as well.
The reason I decided to post this recipe is that one reviewer mentioned how much she loved the food references in Midsummer Night’s Curse (a paranormal mystery set in Transylvania). So I promised I would share my recipes for all the food I mentioned in my books. Hint — I’m a foodie and if I’m hungry while writing, I might include whatever I’m craving in my story.
So here’s the excerpt from my book where this dessert makes an appearance. For context, Radu (a Romanian police captain) and Ella (a Canadian Witch relocated in Romania) are having dinner at a tavern in rural Transylvania and Radu introduces Ella to the local flavors.
