Not Just a Salad
Discovering his purpose at a young age is beautiful
Time Flies
It’s hard to believe, but here I am — an empty nester. I’m incredibly proud and happy for both of my adult children as they continue to grow into their own lives. But if I’m honest, I do miss them. I loved every stage of their childhood, and while I’m content in this new phase, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel their absence.
The sound of their laughter filling the house — there’s just no replacing that.
This is the rhythm of life, though: letting go while holding space. Keeping the memories alive, even as we make new ones in different ways.
A Photo, A Reminder
The other day, Facebook popped up one of those “On This Day” memories. It was a photo I took of my son Corwin in Palm Springs — eleven years ago.
He’s turning twenty this April, which absolutely blows my mind. How is that even possible? Somehow, I don’t age, but my kids do 😂.
The photo means a lot to me for so many reasons. It was taken during one of our annual visits to see my parents in Palm Springs. They used to spend every winter there, and we’d fly out each year for a week of sunshine, hikes, pool time, and little adventures with the kids.
