Here are some recent snippets from my weekly review. Each week I look back and record what I’ve been thinking, reading, and experiencing in the classroom and in life. Learn. Do. Reflect. Do Better. Celebrate. Repeat.

Here’s #1 from this week’s Friday Five Newsletter for Teachers.

Analog Instruction

In modern teaching, the use of presentation software has become both a to effective education. While technology offers valuable tools for displaying visual content and organizing lessons, over-reliance on presentation slides can lead to rigid teaching methods and reduced responsiveness to student needs.

Both teachers and students benefit from occasional breaks from digital slideshows and computer screens. Balance is key.

Successful teachers incorporate thorough preparation, clear communication, and flexible delivery methods that prioritize student understanding over strict adherence to pre-made presentations.

They view technological tools as supplements to their teaching rather than the foundation of their lesson planning, allowing for more dynamic and adaptable classroom experiences.
