Should An Angel Reject A Child?
Do they get to decide who goes to heaven and when?
The idea for this came as fast as lightning.
Background: my boyfriend is usually very dismissive of Malczewski's art, for funny reasons which don’t need to be said here. But as the contrarian that I am, sometimes I will just spend a time looking at his paintings and letting my boyfriend catch glimpses of what I’m doing on my phone, and roll his eyes.
But today I stumbled upon this one, and an idea came to me.
How young is too young to decide that you’ve got enough of this place?
Geese sounded the alarm before I heard tiny, unsteady feet walking behind me. I wanted to pretend that nothing was amiss, but there was a child following me into the fields, and no adult in sight.
It surprised me that the child could see me, because angels are not visible to everyone — sometimes we are not visible at all. But every now and again, someone will be bestowed with the chance of catching a glimpse of a creature like me, and then problems will begin.
