The Emperor
A poem after the tarot
A man of this world, control, power,
yet you are softer than that,
a father, nurturing too.
Protector then, or not?
Your own person, rational, sensible,
wisdom of decision makers
sits easily on your shoulders.
You do not own me!
Do not drive your empress away
with your power, authority.
It does not hold sway over this woman’s heart.
Allow yourself vulnerability too?
Do not deny all that you are, do not
close down your softness, that is part
of wisdom, part of strength.
Learning to be wholly male!
Be creative, exuberant, joyful, loving.
learning to be all you can be
there are no exclusions,
rules can be broken by you.
