August Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Food”
Not just chocolate brioche; soul food.
When I visited my son in the US last year, we happened to order a loaf of chocolate brioche bread. We were delighted with how soft and delicious it was and though it was a reasonably large loaf, we couldn’t stop eating it. Once done, we’d enjoy a cup of coffee together, laughing at our greediness. Thereafter, every day, for the next month, we had a slice of this chocolate brioche, and every single time, it was just as good as the first time.
Of course, we made it last longer after the first week, restricting ourselves to just a slice a day. I can still taste the moist rich chocolate and thinking about my visit takes me to my happy place. I love that about food. We need it for sustenance and yet, it can evoke so many wonderful memories and feelings. Okay, so we don’t really need chocolate brioche to survive, but nobody said we can’t enjoy the yummy things, did they?
