A Spring of Our Own
Our long weekend retreat at the lake
This spring has been a month of reviving after a long February when our whole family was sick. March came and went in a blur. It was super busy, filled with concerts at the Music School, visits from friends we hadn’t seen in years, and fun cooking reunions with the extended family. It was a whirlwind, it somehow passed too quickly even if (or because it was) packed with programs. We were already craving for something quieter, something just for us five.
April means renewal. We were very much looking forward to hiking in the forest, but the weather didn’t allow it.
Next, we planned a family retreat to a rented summer house by the lake, just the 5 of us for a 4-day long weekend. For the first time, we celebrated Easter just us, ok if you don’t count the pandemic time in 2020.
This time it was all intentional. We were literally reclaiming something lost, our time together, through hikes, coffee dates with the kids, picnics, and even fun museum visits.
The house we rented (for the second time!) was perfect size for all of us and super cozy. It was surrounded by budding trees, quiet…
