Road of The Setting Suns
For my girl.
I understood perspective seeing the light
changing colours
and adding shadows
to your profile on the highway.
Driving
Knowing
Listening to spells
Bounded by cruel memories
of the weeks we’ve just endured.
Sometimes family strikes hard
Enough and so fast that —
there is no counter attack. Your mum
& Your dad
delaying their flight intentionally
Modifying the weather
Curing their own absence with crystals
and words of feng shui.
Anything can change, given long enough
But us.
And also,
where do ghosts go
when none has any care
or fear of being by them tormented?
Which parades to ruin?
Which roads to soak into more of this rain,
more of your tears.
I bite my finger, I bite my tongue.
I want to bite her for I know she is not here,
and there is no other way to get her back. Not for now, maybe…
given it enough time…
I understand now
Reaching the glint of the city’s hive
Turning
The volume of this noise down,
That we age but never grow:
we never split from the weakness of youth.
