February 18, 2025 will probably not go down in history. In addition to interviewing for a job as an administrator at a performing arts company for young audiences, I made an important decision that I hope will have a positive impact on the rest of my life.

I will never use dating apps again. So I requested the permanent deletion of my profile on the only app I’d been using for years. You see, I warned you that nothing extraordinary would be remembered from that day, February 18, 2025. But it will remain an important date for me! What’s more, February 18th falls two days before Rihanna’s birthday! I know there’s no connection, but you have to make connections between things!

To hell with dating apps! No more fake profiles, no more boring and tasteless discussions, no more meetings that lead nowhere, no more spending money to keep one of the worst industries in the world alive. Wait, I’m happy for you if you were able to find love thanks to a dating site, it can happen sometimes. But for me, it was time to turn the page and to move on to other horizons: those of real life, real encounters, unfiltered faces, spontaneous words, and natural smiles.
