I’m the Bad Guy and They’re the Good Guys

The hard part about editing poetry and being an editor on Medium

Sometimes, when ideas are bouncing around in your head until they create a cacophony that’s almost unbearable, the only way to survive is to poke a little hole and let the words flow onto the page until the last drop is gone. That’s what I did with this story, and it feels so much better.

Being a volunteer writer and editor on a writing platform for over ten years is no easy task. Even more so for people like me who have almost put aside their personal and professional lives to devote themselves to others every day of the week, including weekends, for over seven years.

Fortunately, and even though it’s out of the question for me to draw up any kind of balance sheet today, even if, on rereading, it looks like it, this incredible journey I’m living with all of you here, and especially with all of the wonderful writers who make Scribe breathe every day, brings me immense happiness and is almost never fraught with pitfalls. But sometimes, and it’s only natural, there are gray days.

I’m going to be long today, but this is probably the story in which I’ve poured my heart out the most so far. Thank you in advance for reading.
