I Nominated a Piece Written By ChatGPT and It Was Selected for Boost

What I’m about to tell you is rather sad, but there’s no reason to lose hope

I feel betrayed, humiliated, and hurt. Maybe I’ve become completely paranoid and need to find treatment quickly. Maybe I’m right and my diagnosis is correct. I’ll try to be as brief as possible, and a little funny, I promise. I hope what I’m about to tell you will be of public use and serve the great purpose of Medium. Here’s the story.

About a week ago, I welcomed a new author to my publication, Scribe. The author’s email seems correct, my guidelines are being followed, and the two text proposals, poems, are of fairly high quality. At first glance, I’m looking at a serious (even talented) writer who deserves to join my publication. The icing on the cake is that this person wants to support me by taking out a monthly subscription through . I gave the go-ahead, and the first poem quickly found its way into my publication queue. Strangely, the author doesn’t send me the poems he suggested in his email, but another text. After a few exchanges, he finally sends me the first poem, which I publish and submit to Medium’s curators with a new nomination. The poem quickly…
