ask how another country
(one who does it better)
uses their ingenuity to
benefit the world

we drink half of our Dasani
and then do not even bother to
empty it
before it goes into the
trash (good job!)
next to the gas
our cars guzzle
such gluttons for more, more, more, more
yes, we, the full of ourselves,
do not do things better
we make waste and leave it
throw it out the window
on Interstate 40
for someone else
less qualified (inmates can do it!)
not my problem
so look away

meanwhile
canoes made of plastic bottles
bricks formed from plastic bottles
homes created from plastic bottles

ask those people how they solved their poverty issue if they had one
ask how they keep it from happening in the first place
ask how they live happier, more simply
ask why they are…
