My mother, a beacon of beauty and compassion, dedicated her entire life to selfless service. She ensured that bellies were full and faces lit up with her infectious laughter. Even in the face of life’s challenges, her unwavering faith remained her steadfast companion. With absolute confidence, I proudly declare myself to be the son of Anna Cavaricci.

She shared a profound love for flowers, particularly orchids, a passion that I inherited. An orchid graces my office, and we used to exchange photos when they burst into vibrant blooms. Just as she nurtured her children, she took immense pride in fostering the growth of these exquisite blossoms.

Flowers, symbolizing the cyclical nature of life, mirror the seasons in which they flourish. Spring brings forth the budding, a testament to new life emerging from the soil, yearning for the sun’s embrace. Summer witnesses our growth as we stand tall and strong, taking shape and purpose. The flowering stage unfolds, revealing vibrant petals that bring joy to the world. As we approach the final season, we bid farewell to this earthly existence, yet our journey does not end there.

We are drawn back to the origins of our being, returning to ashes and dust. Like scattered seeds, our spirit will permeate the fields of our existence. And one day, I will reflect on my mother’s remarkable life, and my heart will overflow with joy. In that moment, I will envision her radiant presence amidst the wildflowers, her spirit forever intertwined with the natural world.

My mom passed away on January 11, 2024, and is now at peace. She will be dearly missed.

Mom was a passionate cook, and there was nothing she enjoyed doing more. We created a virtual experience during the pandemic where mom shared her culinary expertise with my office. The following is a video tutorial on the art of making gnocchi. Enjoy!
