A poem.

What makes a man?
Is it his hands
Or is it heart?
Or is it his plans,
or maybe his art?

Is it his will
Or whether he can?
Is it his pride
Or whether he’ll stand?

Is it a vagina?
Or is it sex?
Is it the studying
Or is it the test?
Is it what’s now
Or what’s coming next?
Is it how?
Or how its his best?

What makes a man?
What beats in his chest?
What sifts in his soul
That gives him unrest?
Is it horror or terror
Of probable error?
Or is it the wildest of dreams
That he’d never guessed?

What makes a man
Say, do, think, or be?
Whatever it is,
That’s what makes me.
