O heart’s delight.

O faithless one,
O heart’s delight,
You left,
Yet you said
You were mine,
And I was yours.
The wind blew,
The rain fell
Near your home,
While scorching heat
It burned near mine.
You answer me,
Or question why,
Choose to drink,
Or rub your hands dry.
I stayed patient,
Through every day and night.

O faithless one,
O heart’s delight,
I saw you with him,
Hands entwined,
Among the blooms,
Where light
turned to shadows,
And day became night.
So farewell now,
But come,
reveal my fault,
Look into my eyes,
Don’t haunt me more.
Your hair dances
in the wind,
But what did you gain?
You’ve gone,
Now…
My heart betrayed,
But it’s fine.
May joy embrace you,
That’s my only prayer.
Say nothing more,
I won’t search for you,
And that’s a
Last promise to you.
