WRITING PROMPT 36
We All Have the Power to Bring Beauty to Someone’s World
And not only in the obvious places
I place my hands over my heart and breathe in. Today, my heart is full, more full than expected. I was asked —
Where do you see beauty in the world?
For half a second, my brain went into that negative space. Beauty? In this world? Have you seen the world we’re living in?
I’ll never reclaim those lost two minutes of negative thinking.
As I sat and reflected on it, an example came to mind. Then, a second one. A moment later, I recalled four or five places I’ve witnessed beauty, even recently, but which to write about? Which to expound on?
That’s when the hands came over my heart. What a nice problem to have, a nice conundrum to ponder — too many ideas of places where I encounter beauty in this world.
I’ll be mentioning all of them.
Without question, nature is often my church. I’ve learned to be intentional and seek out a flowing stream, a clean and underused park, new vantage points to take in mountain views, or country drives below towering trees.
