In Part 3 of my affirmations series, I discussed how to use body affirmations to have a better relationship with your body and improve your physical health. In this part, I will discuss affirmations for your mental health.

I believe good mental health is the number one thing people should strive for in life, even more than cultivating relationships, success, fortune, fame, etc., because what good are those things without good mental health?

Having a lot of friends is great, but if you are mentally unstable, you might find yourself loading your problems onto those close to you too often. And maybe you can’t cope well with hearing about their problems.

You can have all the money in the world, but if you’re miserable, what’s the point? I think we should all learn how to be happy and mentally healthy first before prioritizing life’s other pursuits.

Here are some examples of mind affirmations that work for me. Once again, I invite you to recite each one to yourself either out loud or in your head. It can help if you really try to put some meaning behind each one.

  1. I am brave
  2. I am strong
  3. I am safe
  4. I am mentally strong
  5. I am resilient
  6. I can transcend anything
  7. I am not afraid of discomfort. Bring it on
  8. I’m not afraid of anxiety
  9. I’m not afraid of fear
  10. I will overcome anxiety soon. (Repeat this 2 more times)

If you find it useful, practice often, and you may see improvements in your confidence and mental health. Remember how important your mental health is and find ways to invest in it, whether it’s through affirmations or by some other means like journaling and meditation.
