With all the change happening in the current state of things, it can feel like we are powerless, caught in a whirlwind of decisions made by other people.
It might even seem like power itself is inherently corrupt, as we witness leaders and once-reputable institutions failing to live up to their promises. Or worse, exploiting their influence for personal gain.
The old saying that “power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely” can feel like it rings true when those at the top lose touch with the needs and values of the people they are meant to serve.
