In my last post, I talked about the importance of incorporating mindfulness into your daily activities. Now I will give examples of mindfulness activities and dive deeper into each one.

Writing

Writing is a great way to tap into the creative juices and enter a mindful flow state. Some days the words easily flow from my fingertips as I become lost in the process. On other days I have a terrible writer’s block. When that happens I don’t beat myself up because I know that next time will be better.

Cooking

You may recall from my last post the story of my mindless cooking mishap. By bringing more mindfulness into cooking, we can decrease the likelihood of accidents and reduce our stress and anxiety. The next time you cook, give yourself more time than usual, put on some relaxing music, and see just how mindfully you can prepare the meal. You might be surprised at just how enjoyable cooking can be when you take your time and enjoy the process.
