Break Free From Safe Routines and Tap Into Your Deeper Calling
You may feel safe in the harbor, but you were built to brave the open sea
O Spirit, as we unmoor from the safety of the familiar, steady the waters of our hearts and souls. Give us strength to trust You during the voyage as we encounter stormy weather. Give us the vision to remember why You created us. Help us to be brave enough to leave the harbor knowing that You journey with us through uncertainty.
There is no doubt that safety invites us into a quiet comfort. It is the allure of routine and the predictability of rhythms. There is certainty in all of this. I encourage you to read this quote and sit with it for a minute.
When a great ship is in harbor and moored, it is safe, there can be no doubt. But that is not what great ships are built for. — Clarissa Pinkola Estés
If you are the ship in the harbor, undoubtedly you will feel safe, but big ships, like you, were never created to stay in the harbor. You are meant to sail the great seas and explore. You are meant to become, live well, and love your life with great depth.
