AFFIRMATIONS GUIDE — PART 3 of 8
Body Affirmations
Affirmations to improve your physical health
In Part 2 of my affirmations series, I discussed how to use gratitude and positive affirmations. In this part, I will discuss affirmations to improve your physical health.
We all put our bodies through way too much stress and strain in our lives. And we often forget to thank it and give it the attention and love it needs.
Body Affirmations can be a very effective way to give back to our bodies. They can help in several different ways, such as:
- Helping to alleviate aches and pains
- Serving as reminders to fix bad habits
- Giving you a chance to thank your body
- Allowing you to connect with your body and make it feel heard
Remember that the body and mind are interconnected, so the mind is capable of healing the body. And the more belief you have in your mind that the affirmations are helping, the more likely they are to help.
Here are some examples of body affirmations that work for me. Just like last time, I invite you to recite each one to yourself, either out loud or in your head. Do whatever works best for you. Really try to feel each one in your body and smile as you do it.
- My body is strong
- I am grateful for my body
- I love my body
- My body is not perfect, and that’s ok
- I take care of my body
- I will fix my posture
- I will heal my lower back pain
- I will stop leaning on my elbow while working
- I will check in with my body and listen to it (Take a minute to do that now)
- I release my pain
- I am cleansing my body
Visualization techniques can be very effective in increasing the impact of the affirmation. For example, for the “I am cleansing my body” affirmation, I like to do the following visualization technique that you may want to try.
Visualize a healing ripple flowing through your body, starting at your feet and moving slowly up your body. It stops at your knees and swirls around them, healing your knees. Now, imagine your knees sparkling clean as if they are brand new. Let the ripple move up through the rest of your body, stopping at every point of pain, discomfort, or worry so it can cleanse that body part in the same way.
For me, the key cleansing areas include my knees, lower back, stomach, solar plexus, heart, throat, and brain. Choose the areas that are important for you and try it for yourself.
If you have anything with your body that is causing you discomfort or would like to change your view on, I encourage you to create your own body affirmations that are specific to you.
